B1-B Lancer and B2 Spirit JDAMs
Hello.
Why in this game are not included as "strike element" B1B and B2 bombers in the USA OOB with JDAMs?
They are in service in Afghanistan, very useful against some targets.
Regards, Luigi

I'm sorry, I were not at home and i didn't remembered well. I mean B52 and B-1B because in the Strike Element section B2 is already represented.

Re: B1-B Lancer and B2 Spirit JDAMs
Have you looked at how many empty slots are left in that OOB ?? Right now in the master OOB there are 17 and I'm not going to waste any of the remaining ones by adding redundant items. The B2 MORE THAN covers what the B-52 and the B-1B could offer and there are 3 other JDAM armed aircraft if the B-2 is more than you need as well as 2 aircraft armed with 500 lb Paveways and 5 more with 2000 lb paveways
So no, I won't be adding B-52's and B-1B's to the Strike Element section

Re: B1-B Lancer and B2 Spirit JDAMs
I guess there are a lot of other things that could be added, like HEMTTs, obscure logistics units, the TAM110, and the M93 Fox. But yeah, the current unit list pretty much covers those.

Re: B1-B Lancer and B2 Spirit JDAMs
Speaking of JDAMs, a while back I was tinkering with stand-off weapons because the thought of overflying the target after dropping the munitions made no sense to me (except give the enemy a chance to shoot you down). Right now, they work like very accurate LGBs, which they aren't; the delivery aircraft neither designates nor overflies the target. I can propose three methods to handle stand-off weapons: 1. make the munition a very accurate "dumb" bomb, provide no unit icon for the delivery aircraft, and make it an incredibly small and hard to hit level bomber (but it still overflies the target); 2. make the munition an artillery weapon, and make the delivery aircraft off-board artillery (and risk it being counter-batteried); or 3. make the munition a direct fire weapon, and put them in the FO unit (and risk losing the munitions when the FO unit dies, which reflects loss of designate capability). I would like to hear what you all think about this, thanks

#3 sounds very reasonable.

Er, yes?
The way all PGMs work in the game is that the aircraft shows up at the edge of the map, launches its PGMs, then disappears immediately - it does not overfly the target.
You only get a "normal" attack run if the aircraft didn't find a target.

Re: B1-B Lancer and B2 Spirit JDAMs
I second that stand off weapons are fired & then the plane exits unless it finds no target in the designated area in which case it does a pass over.

Re: B1-B Lancer and B2 Spirit JDAMs
It really helps to understand how the game actually works before making suggestions on how to change it and this tread from the very beginning is a good example of that.
While out-of-the-box thinking can lead to innovation it really helps to test first
