Question Help! Have reached the limits of my capabilities.

Dear all,

As you may know I have been working on many different icons as of late for my mod - "WinSPMBT: das Reich".

Part of the project has included developing support vehicles for the Marder 1 APC. One such vehicle the "Begleitpanzer 57mm" has been causing me a lot of trouble. No matter what I do I cannot seem to get the turret on that damn thing right. It either ends up becoming too big or it gets to be the wrong shape etc.

I would therefore really appreciate it if one of the other more experienced icon designers on the forum could take a look at my reference materials, which will be provided here on the forum as links and also as an upload of the existing chasis, and produce a turret for it.

I have worked together with some of you before in a limited capacity and have always been most grateful for assistance. A list of those who helped me out with the mod has been compiled and when it is finished - icons finished, loaded into the game files and German OOBs updated - I will be sure to give credit where it is due.

Many thanks in advance to anyone who can spare some time and give it a shot.

N.B.: I have provided several turrets from additional vehicles so that whoever has a go at it can get an idea as to what sort of colour scheme I am working with. I have also added my attempt in a second file. These files may be of some use to anyone who wants to have a go. I am not especially pleased with my icon.

Disk Re: Help! Have reached the limits of my capabilities.

Dear All,

110 views, or so, and not one single good idea as to how to solve this icon problem?

Oh well... better luck next time. As always I kept at it and made something that I may not be proud of but, well, what the hey... . Enjoy!

Hi there!

Not that I decided to leave you at will; I have read this post sometime ago and checked the links. But unfortunately I don't have the slightest proficiency in icon-editing things (had only opened the program once in a lifetime of playing SP). So I guessed it would have been more help to you if I don't comment anything, or else I would confuse the more privileged users here... LOL

Cheers,
RightDeve!

PS: those .bmp icons, they're damn smooth! They look perfectly 3 dimensional. Very nice job you did there

Thumbs up Re: Help! Have reached the limits of my capabilities.

Thanks Oragus for the turret. Will see what I can do with my existing variants.

Thanks for the encouragement RightDeve . I learnt from the best of them - Oragus among others - and just kept at it until I managed to polish off my style. You would not believe how many times I've redone my icons.
