My prophet went to some kind of limbo?
I could not find my prophet commander where I thought he was.
So I figured that he must have died in my most recent battle. I prepared a commander to promote to prophet, but the option to become prophet did not exist. I looked around and nobody was getting the option.
So next I figured that he must be alive somewhere where I did not expect to see him. Searched every commander in every province that I owned and he did not exist anywhere. Searched again... And again...
Started looking into the reports under statistics. I found him in the Hall of Fame listing. He is diseased and has -1 hit points. Weird. Still I wondered where he was supposed to be located. So I found the Nation Overview listing. And he does not exist anywhere on it.
He's not undead or anything. He is a Ctis late Lizard king, with no items, and no magical talents except for divine=4. No spells cast on him (except the usual battle spells - blessings etc.) I've advanced it several turns and he stays where he is and I can't appoint a new prophet.
I attempted a search of this forum for something similar but gave up on the 3rd google page. (this is a pretty difficult forum to do an effecient search on)
Any ideas?

Re: My prophet went to some kind of limbo?
Oooh. I hate limbo. My prophet SC seraph got sent there for, like, ever. When he finally came back out he had insanity of over a hundred...
But that's not Limbo. Your prophet is dead. Wait a while and you'kk receive a message saying that your dead prophet's power has dissipated (or something like that), and then you'll be able to appoint a new one.
Also, you can resurrect your previous prophet, since he's in the hall of fame. The spell is an enchantment spell called Ritual of Rebirth. He won't be your prophet anymore, but he'll keep his prophet priest level. And he'll be a mummy.
Isn't Dominions III a cool game? So many possibilities!

Ah yes, it just happened:
"The remnants of the dead prophet's power have left this world. You can now appoint a new prophet among your followers."
I did not know it worked like that.
In the words of Emily Litella: "Never mind."

I still think you should resurrect your old prophet. Especially for C'tis! A mummy would be very fitting, and you can probably get one of your sauromancers to do it easy

The you can reprophetize him and increase his holy level by 1, if you have not already appointed his successor.

then give him the sword of injustice and enjoy your level six priest.
There ought to be spells for level six priests.
