Mother of serpents and tarts
So, the text description in the mother of serpents describes that it is able to heal troops in the same province.
With the CBM 1.6, she doesn't seem to heal tartarians. In a test game I've summoned 7 tartarians with various afflictions. She has been set to consistently heal for roughly a year. All of the afflictions are still there.
Am I doing something wrong?
Am I tremendously unlucky?
Does the mother of serpents healing ability not extend to tarts?

The Tarts feeblemind affliction can only be cured with
1. The Chalice
2. Gift of Health (Ritual)

Re: Mother of serpents and tarts
Standard healing ability doesn't work on undead.
Or old people, for that matter.
Only Gift of Health or the Chalice work on either.

Re: Mother of serpents and tarts
On a side note (forgive me if I am taking my hijack too far- I'll make if new thread if necessary), is there any known way to defeat insanity, or shattered soul?
Can you at least resist madness? Even for a little while? I seem to remember, whilst playing LA R'lyeh, that pretty much everybody went nuts, maybe even my pretender.

Re: Mother of serpents and tarts
Pretender is immune to LA ryleh insanity, as is starspawn priest and mage (but not star child and slave mermage). MR does help resist the effect, so if you conjure up a mage to diversify (or roll a N mermage), you may want to stick a AMA on it, or even add a lead shield on top if it's high valued. Even so expect the insanity rate to slow down but not stopped completely.
Otherwise there's no known way to mitigate/cure something already insane or has shattered soul, when they go crazy they there's no stopping it. Maybe keep them in non-key provs where they can't burn down your temples and pillage up the unrest (and boy do tarts add a lot of unrest with just a turn of pillage...).
On the other hand getting lots of cheap insane commanders guarantee a decent supply of prophets (aka walking temples), and you need it even with dom 10 to resist dom kill from the seas seeing as you loss the ability to build or recruit much sooner or later.

Really? I always thought that the priest also wasn't immune.
Just tested it, and it looks like you are right. But Illithid lords are not immune. Also, if you make something your prophet, and it could be come insane before, the prophet status doesn't help.

Re: Mother of serpents and tarts
But the insanity could cause it to declare itself your new prophet even if you already have one. I don't know if it actually spread your dominion though.
And another thing. I managed to enslave the mind of an enemy prophet in multiplayer. Is it worth GoRing it? Will it count as my prophet? Or will it still spread the enemies dominion?

Re: Mother of serpents and tarts
Goring an enemy prophet can be a bit buggy. (At least when it has multiple forms).
But as long as that guy lives your enemy cannot declare a new prophet. So keep him safe.
Don't know about dom spread. Try a debug mod for that.

Re: Mother of serpents and tarts
I doubt he'd be spreading your dominion, I assume it's much like charming an enemy mage with a global, you capture the global casting mage but the global still belongs to the other nation.

Re: Mother of serpents and tarts
I've done that. "GoR'd" it. It kept my bless, I don't know if it spread my dominion or not, but it did not retain it's priest level. In fact, it was an unmarked champion, and it did not retain any priest level at all.
Maybe if you want to make an SC and have a laugh at your opponent's expense?
Kind of like your own Witch King (LotR). Corrupted to your side, a mockery of humanity.
