Mod: Themiskyra: Amazon Queens v1.35

[Here's an old mod with a chequered past. Peter von Kleinsmit first coded it, back in the days of Dom2. It was brought to Dom3 by Frank Trollman, and very nearly disappeared completely. By chance I stumbled across a version of the mod in a forgotten corner of the forums, and I liked the concept so much I decided to resurrect it. I have made some changes already for better MP balance, but I believe it needs more work.


Themiskyra: Amazon Queens

After the fall of Sauromatia to the empire of Ermor, the Amazonian tribes withdrew from the world for an age. With the decline of Ermor, they return to the world of men to conquer it. Building their capital in the shadow of an ancient, slumbering dragon, the amazons have outfitted themselves in the skins of dragons of ancient times and made pacts with the followers of dead gods.

Strengths: Good sacreds, composite bows and access to every magic path. You have some good national spells and summons.

Weaknesses: Getting more than one level in any magic path is a rare event, you have weak research, sacreds are cap-only and you pay an extortionate amount for castles.

As things stand, I think Themiskyra can make a good stab at the early game but becomes very vulnerable after that.

If anyone wants to playtest them and give some balancing ideas, I'd very much appreciate it.

Note that under CBM the amazons in this mod have their dragon scale armor fo from 15 to 17 prot, as the base dracon scale armor is used (the same that the const 6 dragon armors).

I hate to say it, but this has already been taken care of. The mod presented here has had a notable amound of balancing done, to make it more suitable for MP.

Would you like the original .dm file to be made available as well?

Oh sorry, I was thinking it was just a repost of the original mod, didn't notive the part were you said that you had already done some changes.

I see that the new Dragonscale Hauberk is only prot 14 and only used by the sacred amazon.

The conflict with CBM was far too annoying to live, basically. This way, I get control over te armour values used.

Other changes:
Cap-only recruitable valkyries and shadow vestals have been removed.
Standard amazon sacreds are all cap-only (this may be changed later)
Crystal Amazons have composite bow instead of poison bow.
Other amazon infantry have non-dragonscale armour.
Resource costs are substantially rejigged.

Hum, the crystal sorceress and priestess ony have normal short bows, they should probably be upgraded to composite bows to match their troops

"Rite of Exposed Children" has a fatigue cost of 48, should be 4800 (for 48 blood slaves)

As a blood spell primary, it should probably be in blood magic instead of enchantement

Poison pegasi are a carry-over from the original mod. As the pegasi are effectively impossible to mass in the way poison archers get massed, I've let it ride. And of course it meshes with the nation description

I hadn't thought about the crystal priestess/sorceress bows, but it would make sense to change them over. They could even get poison bows, I guess.

Rite of Exposed Children cost is fixed. The school was set in the original mod, and I'm inclined to leave it there for the moment.
