Default A question for anyone in SPR

This is a question for anyone who worked on the SPR Russian OOB

I've been working through my list of potential OOB corrections and I am dealing with issues regarding the SU-100 at the moment

During this process I had occasion to look at the armour ratings given to the SU-100 in the SPR version of the Russian MBT OOB and I think perhaps that whoever altered the armour ratings for that vehicle ( and perhaps many others ) in that OOB has made errors in assuming how armour is calculated in the game and I'll use two examples to illustrate this.

The Su-100 has front armour of between 75mm and 78 mm (depending on the source of the information but either value is equal in game terms ) That armour is angled at 50 degrees. The armour on the side of the superstructure is 45mm thick and is angled at 20 degrees.

This information is available in a number of places including "The Russian Battlefield"

In the SPR OOB the front hull/superstructure armour for a SU-100 is rated at 20/22 and the hull side superstructure armour is rated at 10. This is nowhere near correct for that amount of armour at those angles and I am interested to find out how those numbers were arrived at.

Dear DRG.

I welcome you.

You are absolutely right - at us in OOB SPR an error.
I ask you not to use ours OOB SPR - for the information. We do not correct in it the found errors.
I suggest to use themes of our forum in which we already with you conducted discussion.

Russian units link:

Russian weapons link:

Also we already have almost finished information processing on our planes and formation and we hope that we will very soon publish it here at a forum.

Yours faithfully

p.s. Sorry for my bad English.

I'm aware of the threads regarding the possible weapon and unit errors/correction and have been looking at those and the other OOB issues others have brought up now. I just happened to look at the armour for the SU-100 in your OOB and thought it odd that was wrong as badly as it was as the armour values we gave it are already somewhat generous and are being reviewed. It indicated to me that whoever did it doesn't understand how armour is calculated or cut and pasted the wrong armour into that unit for some reason

Just FYI I noted in your units list there is an obsession with unit weight. "Weight" in the game may at one time in the far distant past been associated with the tonnage of a vehicle but the only thing weight has any influence on now is how many will fit inside a landing barge and 55 is the limit becasue 255 is the limit to the size of that number and 2 is used to indicate that vehicles may be carried so although you could build a barge with 99 carry capacity it would only be men allowed. You could have a 199 barge that would carry up to 99 points of guns and infantry but that's not the way we do things. Any "weight" number above 27 means only one tank can be loaded in a barge and T-55's for example were given 27 so that two could fit and not becasue we think they weigh 27 tons. This also affects helicopters and transport aircraft in the version of the game you have but in the next one only one vehicle will be allowed to be carried in a Helo or aircraft regardless
