Linux network problem with latest patch?
Does anyone else have problems with the linux dom3_x86 client and networked game?
I'm running a server on a 64 bit Ubuntu OS, and the dom3_amd64 client works fine and the windows 32 bit client works fine, but the dom3_x86 client just won't play nice with the networked server. It doesn't seem to matter whether the server is dom3_amd64 or dom3_x86 -- in either case, dom3_x86 as a client will barf when trying to receive or parse turn files. Playing local games works just fine, though.

Re: Linux network problem with latest patch?
We have been looking into this and there is a problem with the compression used when dominions send stuff on the network with Linux. No idea why that problem suddenly appeared.

Re: Linux network problem with latest patch?
Hmm. Since it occurs with the 32 bit, but not the 64 bit version and is related to i/o -- data alignment error?

Re: Linux network problem with latest patch?
It's the same code that runs on windows as in linux, so it's strange that one works and the other doesn't.

Re: Linux network problem with latest patch?
I have halted the game I host on a linux server. I can confirm there is a problem connecting it since I applied the 3.17 patch.
Is there a way I can help to solve this issue?

Re: Linux network problem with latest patch?
I have made a fix for the linux version. You can download it from here, until Shrapnel gets it up properly on this site. Hopefully the network will now work again.

Re: Linux network problem with latest patch?
I've tested it as well. Great work (and quick too).
