Order of acting in battle

Please remind me - what is an order of acting in battle? (which commander acts after which during each round of battle)

Is it always the same as the order in which commanders are listed in the army list on the screen when you scrip them what to do in battle? Or is it random every turn?


Also if it is indeed the same as an order of commanders in the army list - is there any way to change that order? And what if you are attacking a province with several armies? Is the order of acting the same as the order you see when you press "Y" on a province you attack? (which lists all comanders in all armies)
