Default StarBlazers Mod

Greetings! Here's a mod for WW with a StarBlazers (Space Battleship Yamato) Theme.

There are some new ships for the Terrans (EDF), a new enemy race (Gamilons) and a new heavy fleet carrier ship for the Garthans. There are also new weapons, shields and items in keeping with the StarBlazers universe.

The Queen Emeraldas is also in there, and the Captain Harlock's infamous ship - the Arcadia.

Some artwork included in the mod was adapted from images found on the net. All of the ship images were created by me based on designs found in the StarBlazers Fleet Battle System rulebooks.

Never heard of Space Battleship Yamato, but it sounds interesting.
Anyone want to make a StarFleet mod?
(I mean the old Japanese puppet show, NOT Star Trek ;-)

the yamato .. i've heard of that from what, starcraft?
either way, i'm off to play your mod.
and yes, I would love to make a starfleet mod - replace the kawangi with borg!

I'm glad you like it

The only races that can really stand up to the Terrans right now are the Gamilon Empire and the Garthans - and only at the most difficult settings at that. Next update will adjust the game balance by giving the other races more powerful ships and equipment as well.

A bit of background on Star Blazers/Space Battleship Yamato:
It was an early anime series that ran in Japan under the name Space Battleship Yamato and in America as Star Blazers. The spaceship was reconstructed from the wreck of the Japanese WW2 battleship 'Yamato' (it was renamed Argo in the American version).

The Yamato reference in Starcraft is the Yamato Cannon/Gun, which was an homage to the Wave Motion Gun on the Yamato in the show, an incredibly powerful cannon that fired from the front of the ship.

Default Starblasers Mod update within a week from now

Hey guys. I have an update that I'm currently testing for bugs and playability issues. It should be done and ready for upload soon.

Things to be included are:
- A new Terran battlecruiser
- Improvements to the Gamilon ships/equipment
- Two fearsome new Garthan fighters for the Heavy Carrier to launch
- Destroyer, Battlecruiser and Battleship class vessels for the Muktians and Zorg
- Tweak game balance so that the Terrans are not overpowering

i love that weapon! .. it's pretty funny when three ships get in a row and they all die.

anyways, i really like the mod, just need to work on some balancing - even the gamilion empire can be easily wiped out if you have the right ships/weapons/items

I am enjoying the mod too, it is nice sometime to have the upper hand ;-)
Have you thought that the uber weapon could have been triggered when needed, like the Chromium Gong?
I would just wait until 3+ ships alligned in one row, push the button and give them the evil smile and laughter :-D

I have tried that, but the weapon originates from the middle of the ship. If you have a fleet, it originates from a different ship every time I've tried it. If anyone can help me code the gong to specify which ship and hard-point a it would use, that would be really awesome.
