Great New Features
I just had a chance to look over some of the new features and I can't wait to try them out.
The retreat/rally point and the op fire options look very interesting.
This game has no serious wargaming competition. I don't see how anyone can still claim spwaw is as good.
Great job guys

Re: Great New Features
Where do you see the opfire options? I thought it was an aid to get players a bit of control over the reactive fire that goes on, particularly when the AI is playing it's turn, but I saw nothing in the manual I glanced over, and the only announcement on here that makes me believe it exists at all refers to the "AI" having some options like this, which of course would mean that I am unable to input my side's reactive fire at all if indeed it is "only" the AI that has these adjustments; that is unless when they say "AI" they also mean your forces when they are no longer controlled by you. I looked through the manual and the game for about two hours and found nothing on it, though I could had been more thorough. I easily found the bit on the new retreat bit, but nothing new on reactive fire.

Re: Great New Features
Here is the place where I found out about this, though I sure didn't see this at home, but then I wasn't trying this link. It sure wasn't in the manual. Perhaps it wasn't meant to be in this winSPWW2 version?
http://linetap.com/www/drg/OPfire.htm
When I get home, if I follow what they have here and use "filter" on the ranging then that's obviously where it would be in the game if uesable by the human players.

Game Guide -> Deployment Menu -> Range Set Screen (AKA Y key) -> Write up on the zero (0) key in the key section
(NB - FILTR button <-> zero key, but is a nice big readable button object for those folks who don't memorise keyboard shortcuts .
And Also of course:
Game Guide -> Release History -> Version 2.0 upgrade patch, bullet near the very top of the release info:
"2) Opfire filtering has been added as a bonus for players owning the CD version of the game. Click HERE for more info.".
Which both will point at:
Game Guide -> CD Extended Features -> Op Fire Filtering section.
(the box at the end of the section notes the features for DL version users - which is mainly turning filtering off should you load up a scenario where the designer has applied filtering and you don't agree with his choice).
Cheers
Andy

Re: Great New Features
Oh, that's the key Andy, I didn't see it linking elsewhere. It's interesting I would see the bit about the AI using it but not that announcement. I had to dredge up that old thread to find that link there, and then hope it was valid for thsi game when I got home. Searching for the word "react" besides seriously glancing over the whole manual didn't so me a lot of good when it was all linked to somewhere else . The funny thing in that thread some weeks back when I first saw it mentioned, even there I didn't see the link in the post as it just looked like somebody wanted to play cute colors with a word.

Re: Great New Features
SPCAMO,
You guys are FANTASTIC!
I have always loved the old DOS version and when I could no longer get it work on my XP machines I was sadden. However, when you guys first released this last year, I bought it for my B-Day and it's one of the best investments I have made for a game.
This latest release is just FABULOUS! I keep finding new tid-bit with the CD-Version that I am just loving.
Op Fire is great, Map copy/paste is great, the tools are AWESOME.
What DOS Campaign's can we convert to WinSPWW2 v2?
For example only SPWW2 types, if so which version (4.0-7.0) how about the old Campaign's from SSI?
Just wondering.
Thanks a MILLION for the many hours of escape!
Don

Re: Great New Features
You can only convert the SPWW2 campaigns, not the old SSI ones.
We're glad you like the game. Thanks for buying the CD.
