Some SE V Models
If any one wants to see some of the things I tried to make for SEV, download these models and take a look.

Re: Some SE V Models
The X-Wing is really good actually. The others are ok, just could use a little more tweaking in smoothing out the models and with the textures. But overall very nice. You'll still be putting everyone to shame with the quality and volume of your shipsets

Tie was nice, the xwing had a sever fps dive...thats going to be tough with a bunch of those on the screen. The D9 the color just doesnt look right...
The best shiney, is the .X view applet thingy used to look at the ships...

As usual, fantastic work. I thought you were struggling with 3d? Maybe I misunderstood, but that doesn't look like struggling, that looks awesome!

Re: Some SE V Models
You can now see the problem with the texturing. The models are very basic, say for the x-wing and Tie. The more basic the models the lower the polygons and the FPS.
In SEV the models used for the terrans are pretty much just shaped blocks.
I posted these images to demonstrate the texturing problems that I am running into. Very annoying and ultimately discouraging.

Re: Some SE V Models
Yes texturing can be a huge pain.
Here's a link to a tutorial that I found very usefull, it's written for photoshop and max3d, both of which are way too expensive for me, but luckily most of it can be done in gimp and blender (both freeware) as well.
Drawbacks are that the whole thing gets quite technical and that you do need to register at the website to view the tutorial. The hullgen program it links to is very usefull as wel, you can generate great random textures with it.

Re: Some SE V Models
The models are pretty good but I'd suggest dropping the textures.
