Question about Twiceborn and death from old age
So, if a mage dies from old age and has cast Twiceborn, will he or she be reborn as Wight mage?

I don't think old age directly causes Death. It might cause afflictions, including Disease, and might die from those, and that should enable him to be born as a Wight mage. Of course, since Death mages suffer less from old age (they get less afflictions), it isn't as important for them as it could be for some other mages. I suspect that all the afflictions would also stay, but that shouldn't matter often. A limp mage is still as good a researcher as any other.

It claimed that the subject was too long, it did!

Re: Question about Twiceborn and death from old ag
Old age doesn't cause death? Well, that is kind of...odd.

Nerfix, noone dies from old age. Old people get weak, sick and then die. It's sickness that kills them, not old age (at least not directly).

Well yeah, but...there ought to be some way to kill of Ermorian Pontifexis and ohter old people before they reach 150 years of age and luck out, not getting Disease.

Re: Question about Twiceborn and death from old ag
They don't. Except if they happen to be skilled in Nature and/or Death, or do some of the rituals that help against aging, or wear an item that helps against aging.
That's a bit like saying that there should be a way to kill off a Vanheim Dwarf that's cast Invulnerability on himself, because he might survive being swarmed by a bunch of Principii for the 45 turns it would take for the forces of Pythium to retreat. Yes, it could happen, in theory, if nothing else happened (like the Dwarf routing, or becoming unconscious, or enemy mages casting something, or the Dwarf casting something), but it won't. And if it will, it will be the exception that makes this game wonderful, or frustrating but interesting. Like that time I lost the turn I got two Great Treasures, giving me Robe of the Magi and the last item I lacked from the equipment of the Archdevil (regeneration) I was 1 Blood booster away from summoning.

And what makes sure they will die off if the only way to die of old age is getting Disease? Knowing Dominions it is possible that they recuperate, luck out or something along those lines. I'm fine with death/nature mages living longer but I'd be displeased to see 150 years old regular men around. Because it makes no sense.

I think that example would be closer if you replaced the Dwarf with a Satyr infantryman.

Old age afflictions can't be healed and chance that old guy will get disease increases as he gets older.

Re: Question about Twiceborn and death from old ag
old mages also become increasingly feeble, so less useful on the battlefield. I don't think death/nature prevents afflictions altogether per se...more like makes them less likely.
