Re: Proposed/Failed Program Icons
LVTP7 proposal with Bradley Turret. My icon is a kitbash using the SPCAMO LVTP7 and Bradley icons as base art.

Re: Proposed/Failed Program Icons
LVTHX5 concept; but no prototype was ever built.
Icon created by kitbashing SPCAMO's LVTP7 hull and their M-60 turret.

Re: Proposed/Failed Program Icons
It would be interesting to see an OOB for the US Army with all sorts of canceled projects represented.

AH-56 Cheyenne by Sgt. Gunn
This one is NOT NOT NOT NOT by me.
I Repeat, it is NOT by me.
This is Sgt. Gunn's AH-56 Cheyenne Icon, put here so that it's easier to find.
Was to be our next generation helo, but was more adapted to high altitude, high speed diving attacks, and could not hover very well.

Re: AH-56 Cheyenne by Sgt. Gunn
The ugliest helicopter Ive ever seen. Thank god it was cancelled. Maybe it wouldnt have suited the russian view of beauty and grace either, good for them they had the shilka for such ugly flying critters.

Re: AH-56 Cheyenne by Sgt. Gunn
Sorry to intrude on someone elses thread but I have produced two icons that could fall under this catagory:
1. TSR2
(Based off a diagram found on the above site)
2. Hawker P1154 Supersonic STOVL Fighter/CAS Aircraft... the Harrier was salvaged from the wreck of this program. The Icon is actually a modified version of the Harrier Icon that came with the game (had to lengthen the fuslage, modify the tail and the jet intakes).
Edit to add: Feel free to modify the TSR2 (add underwing stores, etc)
Edit again to fix links

Actually, that's the point of this thread, to act as a central depository for hypothetical "what if" icons, of cancelled programs or sketches that never got off the drawing board. It's not my own private thread, lol
And BTW, nice icons of the TSR.2 and P.1154

Thanks, I admit the TSR2 still needs some refinement... for instance I need to work out how to get the foward fuslage to 'blend' with the wing rather than the damn horrid boarder between the two there is now.

M-60-120S Icon and LBMs
The General Dynamics 120S is an upgrade of the M60 tank. The 120 in the designation represents the 120mm smoothbore gun and the S stands for speed and survivability. The M60 part of the earlier M60-2000 designation is no longer considered relevant as so much of the MBT is new.
The 120S is a unique product that integrates the M1A1 120-mm turret, equipped with a 240X4 FLIR, onto a fully modernized M60 chassis.
It was proposed for Turkey, but they bought the Israeli Sabra instead to upgrade their M-60 fleet.
Blown up 200% view of Icons.
Icons are stock SPMBT M-60A1 and IPM1 icons; the M-60 Hulls were re-worked to take into account the fact that they'd get teh same powerplant treatment as the M1.
