No download option to buy this game?
Maybe I'm not looking in the right place but in the online store I didn't see an option to download it. Am I correct in this assumption?
Thanks,

You can download a demo, but not the full game.

Re: No download option to buy this game?
I wouldn't want to DL it personally. This is one of the few games from a small label that opted to print a large quality (reffering only to the physical aspects) manual.
Even though 99% of it is basically a spell/item list, and most of the gameplay concepts are missing or poorly explained, it is much much more valuable than the time saved by downloading it. The demo is pretty comprehensive...not like most of the demos released now-a-days. It should be able to hold you off while your order gets processed and shipped.

Re: No download option to buy this game?
Downloading games is still being ironed out anyway. Its not like forums or blogs or shopping carts where a finished, tested, debugged, secure package that is safe for both users and company is available for purchase/install. So far everyone is still doing their own and keeping the code of it tight to their themselves. There are alot of headaches involved that I would NOT wish upon Shrapnel.
The only readily avaiable system that Ive seen is "Steam" which has a large number of hateful customers who will avoid any game using it.
But Im sure that every company out there is watching for an installable package to manage it. It will come out eventually IMHO.

Re: No download option to buy this game?
Fileplanet has a system that I've used. I've also downloaded games from Matrix, which have gone on without a hitch.
Steam...is a front end for delivering games. Simply making a game package that is installable from an executable and then giving the customer a link to that executable once CC funds have been secured seems to work fine.

Re: No download option to buy this game?
Oh they have their hitches.
But besides that, the point was that matrix and fileplanet are not sharing that system so others can do it. And writing one from scratch is a big headache. Well, fileplanet is in a way but to offer things thru them cuts into the programmers profits.
As to the method you meantion, thats not very workable on a large scale. Downloads still work for things like demos where broken downloads dont matter, and snagging multiple copies doesnt matter, complaints of non-delivery that can be abused, and many other factors.
I know, I see it all the time in the gaming newsgroups also. It seems like there are no headaches and anyone could write one. Therefore the only reason its not done by everyone must be a conspiracy because it would be so much better for "everyone".
