Default AI Ship Designs file

Hello everyone.
Well, im almost sure that such a topic has already been posted somewhere here, but i didnt find it in a short search, so anyway..

My Taera Republic racestyle (aviable for download at Universal Shipyards....guess you know where's that) was not completely full, due to lack of work on the AI scripts and few missing extras, and i went to update it.
But, i encountred a problem - i was unable to make the AI to create a ship of design i wanted.

Anyone here is good enough in AI designs?
I can post here what i want from the design to be, and any help will be greatly appreciated.

Well, i thought - if there is anyone who is good with AI scripts overall (facility construction, designs, etc, etc), please e-mail me, i'll have some questions..

Well, lets see.....
1. I want to get general help about AI designs file. Example - i use biologic tech tree in all three settings. Then, if i want a ship to use majority of acid globues, 1-2 tractor & repulser beams, and few shield depleters?

2. If i want to customize my designs even more, how do i make the AI to add numerous different comps - as example, mine sweepers?

3. Can i add more than one type of every ship? i mean, i add two attack designs, and AI will build them both?

4. I need general information on research, facility construction & planet types, research scripts. Never realy understood them.

5. Can i make the following:
Write somewhere that EVERY fleet that AI creates should consist of 2 class X ships, 4 class Y ships and 1 class Z ships?

I guess i will have more to add, but so far thats all i can think about.

(1) These are determined by what weapon number and preference you give each design. Currently, it is possible to list multiple weapon preferences (1-5) that AI will build upon researching. This is limited to a max of two types of weapon per ship at any given point, the majority weapon and secondary weapon slots. For example if I list weapons 9, 8, 25 as my first, second and third choices for the majority weapon and weapon 2 as my only choice for secondary weapon - the AI will always place have at least one capital ship missile (2) on board, but will place either DUCS (25), PPB (8) or high-energy discharge weapons (9) on its design depending on the tech available.

(2) Create or modify a design with the additional ability of "Mine Sweeping" or something like this (check out some of the TDM ModPack races - they have this in their larger attack ships)

(3) Yes, again check out some of the TDM ModPack races, they have multiple designs of both ships and units

(4) That would be too long to post (there have been several good research threads in the past - do a search) but in short, the AI will research what is in their research file based on the order contained in the research file (with the exception being if it is located in an unconnected system) for which there is a special research path.

(5) Unfortunately, no. We are trying to get MM to add a flag to the design file that would allow us to designate a design as valid for "Attack Fleet," "Defense Fleet" or "Both" inclusion.

The best way too learn about these files are really to compare some of the modded race files with the originals and other modded races to see what people are tweaking and the effect it has on races in games you are playing. Hope this helps

Taera I love your racestyle and updating the files to it would be great!

BTY have you voted yet for the civil war feature? I don't want to be a pain with this, but we'd really like to know what you think

Taera- Just post your questions in an organized format (i.e. 1, 2, 3, etc,) and I bet you will get a lot of answers fairly quickly from everybody.

OK, now everyone laugh...

You know, there is a FAMILY part, and WEAPON FAMILY....never seen weapon family 'till yesterday..

Then, the new scripts are 50% complete, so soon i'll ask for someone to test the new AI..
