OT- Doom3 problem

Needed a game to fill in time for the next few months, so I got Doom3. It installed fine as far as I know but it won't accept that disc1 is disc1 when I try to play. I can't find any forums devoted to the game on it's maker sites so can anyone help me. Probably I will take it back tomorrow to get a disc that works, but in the mean time I am downloading the latest patch. Anyone else had this problem and found the solution?.

Edit: nevermind, the patch fixed it. Next time I install patch first then ask for help (if it still didn't work )

Is it in a DVD drive or a CDRom drive? Makes a differance.

Also forget about Doom 3 and get one of the fine games that shrapnel has to offer, or better yet, Farcry..... oh thats a beautiful game.

actually I also discovered after starting to play that I needed new drivers. It's been 2 years since I got this comp and only now do I need better 3D technology. I must play SE4 too much Actually I got another game last week, called Superpower2, but it really didn't make me want to play all the time.I had trouble with that one because it kept telling me to put in disc2. It's a french game so perhaps they translated "needs disc 1" wrong. I figured it our eventually .Luckily the local EB is having a sale for the last few weeks so they havn't cost me much. Oh and it's a CD drive.

What I would like to know is if I can put my flashlight on my shotgun. The darkness adds that spooky ambience, but it sure would be easier if I could see what I shoot at without having to drop my flashlight to shoot

Yes, but its a mod that you have to get from one of the DOOM3 sights. It was the first thing I did. Why they did not include it as a weapon load out is beyond me.

Because it's going to be in the expansion pack just like the double barreled shotgun that people missed
