WinSP has encountered an error and must be closed
Bloody'ell.
I had just spent an hour on a map when I was about to save, and truly I am quite pissed for not getting to save my changes.
I did the following: Pressed the Disk-icon, and rolled forward to where my last save of this map was. By accident I pushed the slot below it (216 or 217, I think), and by instinct a finger on my left hand found Escape. I pressed it, and right after that pressed the slot above, but I could not see if the change was made before in a millisecond or five, SP closed and the "we've encountered a problem and blah blah blah, see this damage report for lotsa data that you'll need a few years in our programming department to understand a quabble of" came up.
I think the report was saved to a .txt, should I send this to anyone?
I feel like repeating, I am quite angered.

Re: WinSP has encountered an error and must be closed
I cannot answer as to your dilemma. I do know that when designing maps or scenarios the cardinal rule is save often. Never work for more than five minutes without saving.
This is absolutely necessary to avoid madness...both emotionally and psychological!
Believe me. Heed me guys. Save, save, save. Don't ever bypass this.
Of course that is small comfort to you, but I have been down that road you are on so many times and I know your frustration!

Re: WinSP has encountered an error and must be closed
Hi,
I have worked a lot in map designing with WinSPMBT and I ve never experienced what you described.
BTW, the CD version will have an auto-save feature along with the extended map editor.
cheers,

Re: WinSP has encountered an error and must be clo
IT JUST HAPPENED AGAIN. ARGH!
C:\DOCUME~1\HENNIN~2\LOKALE~1\Temp\bb12_appcompat. txt
Once again, I have an error log. Should this be sent to anyone is again my question.
IIRC, this is what I did:
I first entered the save screen and rolled towards slot 218. By accident, I push either 219 or 217, and then push Esc. Now, the title in the red rectangle does not GO AWAY when you hit Esc (which it SHOULD, for a FUTURE VERSION). Seeing it not change, I push Esc again (though I could simply select another slot. I chose to because I wanted to be on the safe side of things).
I enter the Save list again, with the last crash FRESH in mind, and roll towards 218. Yet again I manage to push 219, but now I push Esc and choose 218. The game crashes.
TRY THIS AT HOME.
Stuff like this kinda puts the motivation temporarily on the loo.
By the way, I did save five minutes ahead of this.
Full Screen, DirX, 640x480, WinXP.

Re: WinSP has encountered an error and must be clo
I have recreated the BUG several times now. Press slot 219, press Esc, press slot above, crash. Really simple thing. It can be avoided this way: IF you press the wrong slot first, press Escape TWO times, and do it all over. Caution now rules my editing.
