Question about initial # of planets setting
I went into the text file for settings and put 200 as the max #... yet when I go into the game it never seems to generate over 100. How do I get more systems?
Thanks

Re: Question about initial # of planets setting
One thing I do is go into the quadrantypes file and change the minimum distance between stars to 0. This helps the game pack more into a map.

Re: Question about initial # of planets setting
The type of galaxy makes a difference to the number of systems.
I find that midlife generates the maximum number.

Re: Question about initial # of planets setting
Jason: A couple of obvious questions, which you've probably already checked:
1) Did you change the right Settings file? In other words, if you have a separate mod directory (or many mod directories), did you change the planet settings there? And does path.txt point to the right directory?
2) Did you set galaxy size (quadrant size?) to highest setting before generating the map?

Re: Question about initial # of planets setting
The other thing that seemed to cause me problem is that there is only 104 name in the SystemNames.txt file. I would not get larger galaxies until I added more names to this.
Also another obvious question. Did you restart the program after changing the file.

Re: Question about initial # of planets setting
SystemNames.txt shouldn't be a problem. There are like three or four 255 name files in the Mod's board. Just copy one of 'em into your data directory.

Re: Question about initial # of planets setting
Thanks for the replies. It was the modpack - I forgot to change it I changed the original data file ... realized this and fixed it. Thanks.

I got systems, but they had no names. I had to add the new systemnames.txt file.
