Have you ever been as stupid as me??
Have you ever been in a huge single player game, spent hours playing, with each turn taking about 5 or more minutes to process.....and then, remembering that it's been about 3 hours since your last save, you go to save, accidently choose "Load" instead...and don't notice your mistake until the game reloads to your position from a few hours ago??
I've done that recently....twice. I was so pissed off with myself!

In singleplayer, autosave is your friend.

Except if it crams your savegame directory (and list) with 10 or so autosaves with meaningless titles.....

Re: Have you ever been as stupid as me??
As stooped as u? Yeah sometimes, and even more so. Here is somethings that happened recently.
1. Making cool ships with no engines.
2. Never knew my favorite beer ( for 2 years) had a twist off cap.
3. Bit into a hot towelette on an international flight 'cause I thought it was some sort of breakfast burrito.
4. Thought someone should invent a long neck lighter to light pilot lights with.
5. Thought a "swag" was something nasty you got for christmas; like a gag gift.
6. Going to war against computer opponents because you don't like the color of their flag.

Such decisions are important to the foundation of any Empire
"My Lord, their flag colour is identical to ours!"
"Wipe them Out, Instantly, Declare War! We shall be the Only Maroon with a hint of pink Empire on the Map!"

It is sad you don't like the color of your own flag.

Re: Have you ever been as stupid as me??
I used to always keep a few high turn number (120+) games on my savegame folder that I would label "High_End_Experimentation" or something like that with an all-but-defeated A.I. Race or two. I'd use them to test theories and strategies. Over time, I've done that LOAD thing over ALL of them but one.
Yes, I too am a dumbass. I've done it switching between PBW savegames a couple times too.

Re: Have you ever been as stupid as me??
got new colony tech.
"upgraded" old colony ship (didn't remove old colony module, but did change the ship type from rock colonizer to ice colonizer)
built a very large number of new "ice" colonizers which were still rock colonizers.
sent them to various ice planets.
got the "can't colonize an ice planet" error.
was very pissed.
corrected design problem.
sent colonizers each back to a spaceyard.
retrofitted.
drained resources so bad that lots of ships got scrapped.
was very very pissed.
