Default help missing weapon mounts

Hi I been playing SEIV for a long time and have never had this happen until patch3 came out. I have DN sized ships with just the standard weapon mounts, while the computer AI's have the larger types. I thought all I had to do was research ship construction to get the larger sizes of weapon mounts. Could I have a corupt file? I unistalled and installed the game 3 times with the same results. If anyone has any suggestions, I am listening

All weapon mounts are available at all times, no matter what.

The only thing is that you will get an 'illegal mount' warning if your ship is too small.

Look in your component enhancement file to see why you don't have mounts.
If there is an extra blank line somewhere, that'll stop SE4 from reading the rest.

you have to click on a mount menu choice in the design ship area; there you have a choice to use standard, large, heavy or massive mounts. as suicide saad though, you have to look at the ship mass limits noted in that menu.

Thanks guys, I kind of feel stupid. I never had to do that before, did they change that in one the patches?

Here I go "to infinity and beyond"

No, It's been that way for all time.

I originally did type "click the weap. mount" button, but then deleted it after I re-read that:

I figured that implied you'd added mounts before and you knew how already.

I don't know what or how I did it before. The game would always put the right size of mount on my ships. Until patch 3, anyway thanks for your help. What mod (if any) do you use?
