Well I just "upgraded" to trillian 3.0
I went to connect to #SpaceEmpires and i kept getting disconnected by freenet. After looking into the problem I found this

as we've mentioned, trillian 3's IRC support isnt meant to replace trillian 2. we rewrote everything from scratch and purposely left alot to be desired.
most people complained about the old plugin quite often, so i figured i'd put something out there that was unquestionably lacking, and let the community craft its development. i always felt the old irc module to be perfectly usable and fine, but since not many agreed with me, here is the chance for the rest of the world to dictate how the plugin should work.
we are compiling feature requests from everyone now and will be enhancing IRC support in 3.1.

WTH??? why would they make something bad even worse!
