Harbinger\'s horn
I'm wondering how good the Harbinger's horn attack is vs. undead. She can cast banishment too. Is the horn better? I've watched her in attacks and haven't been able to tell. Also, how do you get her to use her horn attack. I've set her to "fire" assuming the horn is ranged and her other weapon is not.
Thanks.

Re: Harbinger\'s horn
x3 dmg vs undead. Very good, but the range is only 15 IIRC, so it might be a bit unpredictable.
Edit: if you are out of range the harbinger might decide to do things you didn't expect.

Re: Harbinger\'s horn
So the Horn is essentially considered a "ranged" weapon? Thus if the Harbinger is scripted to Fire, and it's within range, it will use the Horn? Will it also look give priority to undead targets over non-undead? thz

Re: Harbinger\'s horn
The tac AI tries to pick target where it does more damage. Thus the 3x damage multiplier will make the harbinger prioritise undeads as long as they aren't much more spread out than other viable targets.

Re: Harbinger\'s horn
I've tried it against undead hoards and it does not perform anywhere near as well as I would expect. Perhaps there is a MR check on the damage? That would explain what I have seen.

Re: Harbinger\'s horn
Ok, thanks. How did you script them?

Re: Harbinger\'s horn
Just straight "Fire(closest)" is how I script mine. Should place them a bit closer to the front of the fight though, else they'll default to something else and most likely get themselves killed.

Re: Harbinger\'s horn
Well I hope everyone tries out the harbringer's horn and reports the results. Maybe I was wrong in my tests and they work pretty well. I have not had much success with them though.
From the stats they seem like the would be great.

Re: Harbinger\'s horn
I've tried. It isn't really useful at all. Even Ashen Empire skellies doesn't crumble at Harbringer's Horn.
Other thing ... why the Harbringer can't fire twice if quicknessed?

Re: Harbinger\'s horn
I've used them against Soul Gate - they cleaned squares with low tier autosummons rather neatly - there didn't seem to be MR check.
Soul Gate critters have no armour and not very high hps - effective str of harbinger's horn vs undead is 15 armor-piercing - armoured skeletons can survive that.
Harbinger's flight was a nice feature on a strategic level
Scripting was aim-fire none
Overall, a couple of Herald Lances was a better pearl investment for fighting the undead, though.
