to avoid a crapload of stale turns please help
i was multi-playing with a friend tonight (he was directly connecting to my computer) and I while I was waiting for him to finish his turn I was completing my turns on mosehansen's site. after closing that third dom2 window I recieved the nagot message on all of my open dom2 windows. Now I cannot start the game at all (dom2 not the game my friend and I were playing). is there a way for me to fix this w/out a reinstall? just curious.
oh yeah. when trying to start the game a .txt file is genereated in my dom2 folder. it reads
' Ngot gick fel!
Failed to create temp directory properly (already existed)'

Re: to avoid a crapload of stale turns please help
There's some crap in your temp directory.
Go to your directory:
C:\DOCUME~1\DJTOOL\LOCALS~1\TEMP
You will see a directory, domXXXXX, where XXXXX is some numerical crap.
DELETED!
Problem solved.

exxx-peee
well i loaded up the game in ver 2.02 and entered my keycode. I was thinking perhaps because I was trying to patch before verifying ownership that it was causing the error. However I was incorrect it still will not load as ver 2.12

Re: to avoid a crapload of stale turns please help
i cannot find any such directory...even after doing a file/folder search.
I did however find some 'prefetch(?)' files that are in my widows directory? somehow I think those are realted to the web though.
**update**
if I reinstall the game and load it up under its original install (2.11) then It seems to work ( i can't get past the cd-key request...my manual is at work atm). when I patch to 2.12 then I get an error tone and i'm kicked to desktop.

Are you sure you can't find the temp directory as described? Are you substituting the proper username in place of "djtool"? If so, it may be invisible. Try enabling the display of hidden files and whatnot in the folder options. I always display all files, because I dislike the concept of files being hidden from me on my own computer.

Re: to avoid a crapload of stale turns please help
Do a search for "temp" and delete all directories named temp. They should all get recreated (you might jot down the locations in case you need to manually recreate one), and that should take care of _all_ manner of problems.
