Demo
Is there anywhere I can get the demo other than GamersFront.com? I'd like to try the game, but I'm unable to download it because the connection keeps 'resetting'.
Edit: never mind, I was able to get it going again right after that.

Where are you? Not specifically, but what continent or major ISP are you on?

Re: Demo
I'm going to answer this question so that if there's a problem with the server, it can be tracked down.
I'm at the University of West Georgia, in the dorms, so I don't know who their ISP is. I *think* it's run through Georgia Tech, but I'm not sure.

Re: Demo
The demo is a more or less useless device for actually selling the game.
All the demo can tell you is that you like everything up to level-4, and the two(?) nations you are allowed to play. This does nothing to tell you about what you are ACTUALLY BUYING THE GAME FOR, namely, level-9 spells and the other nations!
Imagine if you walked into an auto dealership and wanted to buy a car, only to be told that you could only test-drive the "demo car", a stripped down Version of the actual car, that is actually missing all of the features you'd actually buy the real car for, and is unable to go above 20 mph.

Re: Demo
As I edited in the message, I was able to download it. It dropped the connection once, I downloaded again, it dropped again, then, a minute later, when I looked at the dialog again, it was offering to continue it. That's what makes me think something weird is going on.

Actually, the demo lets you play as quite a few nations... Seven, I think.
I agree that there is a good deal more to the game than that, but the demo does allow you to get used to the game mechanics and sample several nations before you decide to spend the 40 odd dollars its costs. By just allowing you to play (up to a point) the demo is significantly better than the average one in which you get to play just the tutorial or one level of the game.

Re: Demo
There is a turn limit, however, so you'll never finish a demo game.
