Default Screen capturing 2nd sprite? [mod]

All right. I've gone back through the old threads but can't seem to find the one made by Saber Cherry discussing some pointers on how to best capture/modify icons in the game at this stage of the modding tools. If someone could point me to a link to that, I'd appreciate it.

That said, pulling up the BlackUnitView map is pretty darn helpful in terms of number crunching but pulling the sprites from the portraits there doesn't do me a ton of good. My main two concerns:

1) I'm not sure how to best go about re-sizing icons in Paint to meet the guidelines recommended by IW. I suppose I can just zoom and re-size until I've got something that looks about right but if someone has a better idea, I'm all ears.

2) The topic itself -- BlackUnitView gives the "at rest" sprite but I'm not sure how to go about actually getting the "action" sprite without basically sitting down and watching a battle replay with my PrtScr finger twitching at the ready.

Suggestions?

As far as I know thats about the limit of options right now. There are settings where you can slow the frame rate of the replay, and if you are grabbing the "at rest" sprite then you want to change to opacity to 100%. Some people swear by changing the graphics quality to the lowest setting also.

Personally I consider myself a very non-user of paint programs but most action sprites are a very slight modification of the rest sprite. An arm moves down. Usually is can be achieved with some cut-n-paste, maybe abit of rotation, some touch-up at pixel level. Since people are usually making some changes to the at-rest sprite it seems just as easy to edit the changes for the action from that rather than capture it and edit the action sprite also.
