OS X patch

Okay, I realize I'm about to be everyone's favorite person to hate on this forum, but I still have one more question.

I've downloaded the patch for OSX, yet I don't think it has done anything. It expands into another folder that I have to ctrl-click to open the package contents. There is a file dominions2 but I don't know where to put it. Is my computer insane or am I just lame?
