Holy Sites and Undeads?
So I tried my hand at Soul Gate. Shuffled a few troops around, mainly disappointed that the only troops generating in my dominion were those dispossed spirits I have yet to find a use for, but that's another point.
After a while, I got myself a province where every turn, I'd get a message that Holy Fire struck my undead and diabolical troops in a certain province. Ouch. The first few times I thought it was a spell, then that it was a site, since it happened every turn in the same province. So I cast an expensive Acashic Record on it, and found two water and one holy site, all of them giving only watergems, and nothing more...
Um. Point is, holy sites don't like undeads in their province? Or did I miss something else? Ouch, that's harsh.

Re: Holy Sites and Undeads?
The holy site should have a description... try right-clicking on it.
Marginon's holy site burns Undead, too. But not all holy sites do this, just some of them.

Re: Holy Sites and Undeads?
Somebody's definitely messing with you. Check the list of global spells to see what's been cast. There is one (Purgatory) that causes strikes against undead within dominion friendly to the caster of the spell.
Oh, and Soul Gate works best with a high dominion. The higher your dominion in a province, the better your free summons are. Some of the best units need to be manually summoned, but they are amazing. Nothing like an immortal undead spell-caster to ruin a Jotun's day!

Re: Holy Sites and Undeads?
Ah, the temple is the key to some useful undeads.
The Holy Site, like I said, was only saying it provided one water gem (pool of something or another), with no additional text.
The province was in my very own dominion, and a pretty strong at that, and I was hit whenever I stationed some undead troops there... I still am, come to that.
Well, maybe a bug, then. Unless a site has hidden from my acashic record...

Re: Holy Sites and Undeads?
Some Holy sites have the Holy Fire effect. Pool of Sanctity is the one you found and it has the Holy Fire Effect.

Hmm, that needs to be listed in-game in the site description.

Yep, that was the one. Only said it was producing one water gem per turn, though.
Sneaky priests. Anyone found a way yet to destroy a site? No? Too bad.
