Default Has anyone made bigger planets?

I'm just downloaded and installed the demo and am contemplating buying Starfury. I am wondering however if anyone has modded and created larger more detailed planets? Maybe twice the size of what I'm seeing now?

Thanks, and hope there's a positive answer here!

Well, I tried doing a quick "everything 10x bigger" but its a little wonky.

The better way to do it is just to reduce all the ships, units and weapons by 10x, cut engine speeds by 10x, and move the camera 10x closer.

Well, where's the place to set planet and sun sizes? I'm not talking about changing the scale of everything, just a few things a little bit.

Thanks Phoenix. So t make it larger I just need to set the basemodelradius larger?

Does this file also contain the variables to how much light intensity the sun gives off and to what radius the luminous effect goes?

If it does where? Thanks a lot!!

Making things lots larger causes problems. Roundoff error in the rendering and stuff makes it look sub-optimal.
You also have to go through every system and increase the shuttle-over distance.

Instead, I reccommend scaling down the ships and bases.
Change the model scalings, and divide the top speed of each hull. Divide the camera distance.
Then divide the thrust produced by each engine.

From your point of view, the ship will be the same size, but the map and planets and stuff will be much much bigger.

Well, it seems the glitches are the fault of my system.

I still believe reducing ships and speeds will provide better performance, but here is the jumbo planets mod.
http://imagemodserver.mine.nu/starfu...0Homefront.zip

Its the campaign settings, spaceobject_Xfiles and the maps that are key. Paste those over a copy of the other campaigns to extend the mod.
