Default Shipset question

How can I make a race which has 8 ships?
I mean.. I made my own shipset and don't have as much ships as the original races in game.
The game doesn't start if I don't have as much ships as the other races...
So what to do?
I hope you understood what I mean

You should be able to just make duplicates of the ones you have and rename those as the ones you don't have. In the mod I am playing now the new ship hulls added to the game use the same pictures as old ships.

It would be nice (although a lot more work for artists) if you could have many different ship pictures to choose from for each hull type (ie a minelayer cruiser would look different from an attack ship cruiser)

Silly Narn !!

One thing to do, use another race's ships to "fill in the holes" for ship sizes that you can not satisfy with your custom shipset. I have seen others utilize this method and it still allows you to take advantage of whatever customization you have completed as far as your new shipset.

BTW, judging from your name, you are another B5 fan. (Although you seem to be a Narn, I will try not to hold that against you.) What success have you had in securing B5 race sets. I have Rambie's Earth Alliance set and the hodgepodge Army of Darkness that incorporates a number of races into a single set with a Shadow as the racial portrait. I am interested in collecting each of the major B5 races, but I am not artistic or creative enough to try the endeavor myself. What have you found so far?

So YOU were the one who stole my name.
GRRRR...

I got most of the pics from www.b5tech.com, just in little need of resizing.
I suppose they can be taken from there completely freely.

I have done about 50% of the images so far. I've planned to do more than just shipsets, but only if I have time for that...

Cold Steel, I had to use Netscrape to go there. I got an error message with IE 5.

Greetings,

G'Kar, I'd do what Londo said. I know, he's just a Centauri... Otherwise, you need to edit the settings file and limit ALL races ships to just 8.

In other news, I'm working on a Narn shipset. I updated my page the other day with a few new renders; take a look if you haven't yet. After the Narn set I'm open to any suggestions on which one next. I was thinking of a "Army of Shadows" made up of Shadow/Drakh ships. I hear that someone has beaten me to it though.

BTW, where did you get the Shadow shipset.

G'Kar, have you checked out Rambies B5 ship set yet? Have you downloaded Mephisto's 1.60 EA mod yet? Just curious.

www.b5tech.com doesn't seem to work with IE 5.x (as many other sites too)

Another great site to get pics is: http://hyperspace.isnnews.net/

I got my Shadow set from those sites.
Does anyone happen to know do shadows have more ships than these:
Mothership, Scout, Fighter and Deathcloud.

And nope, I haven't checked Rambie's or Mephisto's stuff yet.

btw.You have a homepage Rambie?

Andres Lescano has a Star Wars shipset with only one ship design. The Trade federation. He just scaled it slightly different for each ship class, and colored it brown for carriers. You can see what he did here http://www.geocities.com/kuatdy/down...TF/readme.html .
