Immunity to Allegiance Subverters?
I am wondering if there is a way to mod a component that grants immunity to allegiance subverters?
This is mainly because a monster race I have created uses a virus weapon with allegiance subverter damage (it infects the crew of the ship and binds them to the viral hive mind), but I want one of the player races to be immune to its effects, so I want to give them a component that does this.

Re: Immunity to Allegiance Subverters?
The master computer gives alliegence subverter immunity. You can even put the ability into the hull like SJ did for the battlemoon, and still require the hull to have command and control.

Re: Immunity to Allegiance Subverters?
The master computer does this. It will, however, also remove the need to put Bridge/Life Supports/Crew Quarters on your ship, so it isn't exactly the best solution around.
You might make such a component related to the size of your ship though, meaning you will need more space for such a component on a Dreadnought than on a Frigate. If you would like to do so, the Proportions Mod has an example with its scale mounts. (I could explain it as well, but I'm afraid it would be very unclear at best, and more likely than not impossible to decipher)
Lastly, a ship with only the Master Computer will lose all its movement points save one if the Master Computer is destroyed. It will not be the case if you put a set of Bridge/Life Support/Crew Quarter though, so if you would rather remove this, you could also add these three abilities to your Anti-Allegiance Subverter component. (Saying it also features a back-up system or something along these lines)
Too bad there is no way to tweak the damage types, as it would make this kind of situation much easier to handle.
Edit: Not only was I beaten to it, but another solution so much more convenient was proposed. So if anybody happens to be reading this post, I will gently direct you towards the post below and the very handy workaround mentioned there.

You're not saying that you can't use both an MC and B/LS/CQ on the same ship surely?

No, I was saying that the Master Computer does remove the need to put B/LS/CQ components, but you can put such components if you wish. The only benefit of putting a set of B/LS/CQ would be to protect you from these Computer Viruses, if you have a "friend" using these weapons.

Re: Immunity to Allegiance Subverters?
And if you have the MC ability built into the hull, you will still be forced to add B/LS/CQ or a full MC component. (Same as normal)
However, those components you were forced to add won't generate penalties when they are destroyed.
Plus, no matter what's left on/of your ship, it will be immune to subverters.

Re: Immunity to Allegiance Subverters?
If they are going to have subVersion type devices that affect alligence then that mentioned situation should be looked at for SE5 - the only thing i can think of is a racial point type thing like religion, ancient race etc - one that is immune to the alliagnce subverter device (any ideas welcomed)

mmm... There could be a trait called "Red Neck", which would give you total protection against any device which would alter your thoughts about anything .

Re: Immunity to Allegiance Subverters?
Actually mechanoids link would be good - ie mechanical race (greater productivity and research capabilities - immune to plagues - perhaps offset EMP bombs that would act as plague bombs) which would be immune though to psychic weapons ?
Id like to see new types of racial types introduced into SE5 - apparently it enters beta testing soon so lets see if they also bring a demo out soon ?
