Default system happiness ability

Hello all, have been browsing these forums for quite some time but never posted much... till now, maybe

I had this crazy idea of creating my own mod composed from several others, plus some ideas of my own (at least, I came up with them, I don't know whether I was the first one to come up with them though )
One such idea was the inclusion of 'Colonial Corporations', giving a large bonus to resource gathering but once becoming more powerful having a tendency to demand independence, simulated by a negative 'change happiness - system" modifier (so those planets would start to riot if you leave them be). To offset this there would be other facilities (like a 'Colonial Authority') with positive modifiers, but much to my dismay I found that when using positive and negative modifiers only the positive are counted (at least I think so), so you get the bonuses without the negative effects

ehm.. so my idea was rendered useless, but I'd like to know if anyone else got a different way of simulating something like it?

Use positive number for natural decrease setting in your happines type, let's say:

Natural Decrease := 30

This way your planets will quickly go mad, and you'll need to counter their separative mood with some happines improving facilities.

Edit: after posting this I've realized that it's not the solution of your problem: planet will decrease in happines even without Colonial Corporation.

Concerning Change Population Happiness - System modifier: only the best facility with modifier of that type will be taken into account. Unfortately, modifier amounts are not appled or substructed.
And since +50 is always better than -20, the only fist one will work.

Further edit
Try to use Change Population Happiness - System (for Colonial Corps) in conjuction with Planet - Change Population Happiness (for Colonial Authorities). This should work.

Yes, while searching for a solution that came up in my mind as well, it's just not entirely what I wanted (small Corporations only affecting planets, large ones entire systems), but I guess I'll have to make do with it... if it works, that is:

But it was something in Fyron's post:

except for Happiness modifiers)

What do you mean, Fyron?

Another idea I might not be able to include, if it goes on like this there might not be many left in the end
Maybe I'm just too crazy for this game
