Probably not. It's one guy doing it.

Re: SE for pocket pc
You just need a Windows emulator for Pocket PC. ;-)
Hey try running SE3 on it. It's a windowed program... would probably be a complete nightmare though since you'd have so little screen space.

Re: SE for pocket pc
Thanks for the answers. Well i was thinking more on an official ported Version for pocket pc, than trying the original one running on it It would sure need at least a new user interface, but i dont think its impossible, the game doesnt need much hardware. The best strategy game for pocket pc - wouldnt it be a success? I think it would be worth the effort

Re: SE for pocket pc
Well it might be worth the effort, if the labor were available. I expect Aaron would rather program SE5, and most SE4 players would rather he were programming SE5. So if Malfador were interested in having it done, there would likely need to be someone else who wanted to program a port to Pocket PC.

Re: SE for pocket pc
We have plenty of programmers reading this forum.
Aaron could pick a programmer to do it, then make them sign a non-disclosure agreement before sseing the se4 code. Then that programmer is responsible for producing sePocket, and as payment gets to keep most of the profits from the sale of it. Shrapnel and Malfador get to divide up the remainder. This would be a low risk strategy for shrapnel & malfador, since they only need provide the source code, publishing & marketting.

Re: SE for pocket pc
I began trying to learn C+ for the specific purpose of creating a Palm OS program that would allow me to view certain information on my various PBW games such as news, research, ship locations, queues, and Intel. My intent was to have a tool that would allow me to either plan my turns while away from the computer (some of my earlier games were quite complex by endgame). the eventual goal was to have a text-only pseudo way of actually playing a turn, then have it automaticly "sync" my actions to the game turn, then send it off to PBW.
Unfortunatly, I became extremely busy with a new job and new baby so I never did learn the language beyond a few extreme basics. But that was my grand plan.
