Default More Mundane Map Solution

Some weeks ago there was a thread about maps where several people started drawing and posting maps with a spherical or polygonal-solid design. More recently in our 8 player, 1.49 partners game, we came across a similar sort of problem. What sort of map might reduce the probability for one such randomly-placed team to get a very good starting position, while an other gets a very bad starting position?

In our game, in a quadrant of 104 systems, one set of partners had nearly adjoining borders, while another was initially separated by 13 systems (the maximum possible was 15). We are coping, but don't particularly want this to happen again.

To this end I designed the 'Cipher spiral.' This quadrant also has 104 systems having either 2, 3, or 4 warp points (no cul de sacs). The difference is that the maximum distance between any two systems is 8.

I have yet to work with the map editor, but I am going to attempt to produce a working map. Right now I only have a jpeg of it. if any of you dedicated map makers out there would like to have a look, or a go at it, I'd be happy to upload it somewhere for your perusal. The only problem is that I currently have no place to post it. Does anyone have someplace I can send it? It's only 23.5 KB.

Sure. I don't care who, but I still need an e-mail address to send it to. Yours (like mine) on this system is private. Webmaster at some site?

I started working on the doggone thing Last night. I have the systems in place and a few of the warp points. I can see this is going to take several sessions to complete. Let me rephrase my request. Once I get it nearly finished, would someone volunteer to put in black holes, asteroid systems, damaging warp points, etc, so we can use it without giving me too big an advantage? Other players can always view the jpeg to even things up.

Comment: Whoever designed the user interface for the map editor should be sentenced to work in DOS for 30 days.
