Alligence Subverter bug
Anyone else notice this?
The Alligence Subverter seems to work perfectly on a ship with a master computer. Even if its -only- got a Master Computer. I've tested this a few times.
Which brings up the question, how should this work.. if a ship has a Master Computer and a Crew (Useless in normal SE4, yes, but with mods not necessary) would the Master Computer render the ship (and its crew) safe from the Alligence Subverter? Or would it be assumed the crew disables the Master Computer?

Re: Alligence Subverter bug
Ok, so. The second part has been answered.
A Master Computer will be defeated by a Subverted Crew automatically.
Now for the bug to be solved..

Re: Alligence Subverter bug
Hmm, I just checked it again and it works as advertised - MC protects ship from AS.
Are you SURE you are running 1.84

Re: Alligence Subverter bug
Hmmm.
I'll start a new game and mess with it again.
Perhaps I somehow managed to smoke some of the same crackrock Darl McBride's on.
I'll go check...

A MC protects the ship indefinitely, even after it has been destroyed. It does not matter if the ship also has any Crew Quarters.

Re: Alligence Subverter bug
And a Bridge? or just Crew?
ie, if it has a Bridge and a MC, would the MC still render the AC useless?

Re: Alligence Subverter bug
Yes. In 1.84, a design with a Master Computer on it will (AFAIK) never fall to an allegiance subverter, even if the MC is destroyed.
For puproses of the subVersion attempt, it doesn't matter what other components are on it.
Adding bridge/crew/life-support to a design with MC will help against the other side-effects of having the MC broken, however (i.e. movement penalties for lack of control systems).
