Ramming question
I think I've figured this out from other threads, but I thought it best to ask the experts:
When a ship/fighter rams, the offense and defense bonuses play no part, correct? A ram automatically hits, correct?

Re: Ramming question
Correct.
Also, helps to have a bigger ship than the target, I believe.

Re: Ramming question
Not necessarily bigger, just more non-shield hitpoints - so armor helps! (So do warheads, of course! )

Re: Ramming question
Especially Organic Armor, since it will regenerate after you smash the other ship, and you can thus ram multiple enemies without dying.

Re: Ramming question
From settings.txt:
Ram Ship Source Modifier Percent := 60
Ram Ship Target Modifier Percent := 100
This gives a penalty to the ramming ship. The general thought is that this was put into the game to discourage ramming and encourage the use of weapons.
Slick.
