Well, even though some of us are working on our Jedi powers and the force is strong with us, I don't think one person can sustain the shoe levitation 24/7 by himself. Let's have a rotating list of dedicated disciples taking turns, each concentrating for 1 - 2 hours at a time. We'll always have at least two guys suspending the shoe at any moment, so that we have a backup in case the first guy somehow gets distracted, or whatever. Being chosen for shoe levitation duty will be considered a huge honor, and only the most loyal and dedicated followers will be allowed to do it. It's a huge responsibility! If the guys (oh, what a terrible thought!) ever let the shoe drop, it could precipitate a crisis of the faith! you have a point. in the HGttG it was the faith of an ENTIRE population that sustained the teacup in the air. at least until the great and powerful Arthur Dent himself showed up. He precipitated the crisis of faith himself thinking the whole idea of a huge statue of himself throwing down a teacup was quite absurd.

..or how about neutronium or dwarf star alloy? It will be incredibly dense, weighing thousands of kilotons, and space and time will be distorted in its proximity. Then we'll REALLY have to keep it suspended, because if it ever hit the ground, it will cause the planet to collapse into a black hole. ...How could such an object be thrown in the first place? Nothing is impossible for His Divine Holiness, Ruatha the Great!

*Rags walks around RD after seeing that he is up to no good. He notices a pull string coming out of his back. Thinks to himself and says, "Stupid dolls" then takes a 22 and blows off the head.*
"Hey RD, where is the real you?!"

Re: 320.2! 301.5, 311.3, 65.4
TOP TEN REASONS WHY THIS THREAD IS MARVELOUSLY GREAT
10) You can post useless things here when you're bored, so you instantly have something to do. (Such as this post.)
9) You can say geeky, nerdy stuff here and people actually listen and understand!
8) You can even say silly and immature stuff here and not get a punch in the nose.
7) It provides guidance, inspiration, and enlightenment when you're lost.
6) Everybody here is incredibly intelligent, knowledgeable, and friendly.
5) It's like a big collection of jokes, poetry, puzzles, stories, advice... just about everything you can think of!
4) LazarusLong42's "abuse" post from a while back: "You swine. You vulgar little maggot..." Super funny!
3) This thread will never die, because we have dedicated people who will never let it die.
2) This thread has a good chance of one day exceeding all of the other threads in the forum. (We can do it!)
1) Its name magically changes every so often, so you get the excitement and fun challenge of finding it.
