Re: Big Game - Mosehansen:2311
*grin* No sweat. Hope your Pretender enjoys the two battle wounds. There'll be more of that later. ;-)
(and watch that replay... SO close. *chuckle*)

You're right, I'm not used to my boy having wounds... that was well done on your part, but you were asking about an army? Here it comes, hope you like it.

Marignons are still a bit of a thorn, that's for sure... I can only do so many things at once.
I honestly think Cainehill should have stayed... his position was stronger than he realized, and we probably could have worked out a peace, since I honestly wasn't that interested in attacking him... but c'est la vie.

Re: Big Game - Mosehansen:2311
*sigh* This is the Last time I play on a qh game that's less than 24 hours. I've had two stale turns happen as a result of sending in my turn too early, going out and having a good night, sleeping and then waking up to find that I've missed my turn by an hour. Both in this game. And this time I'm under siege. Bleah.
However, that ends my griping on this topic. Is there a reason that we're doing a 14 hour quickhost as opposed to 24?

Re: Big Game - Mosehansen:2311
too early? I haven't seen that.
I had a stale turn a little while ago, but I think that was just my fault.
the 14hrs keeps a little pressure on
edit: are you r'lyeh in sweetback?

Maybe so - it looked pretty bleak at the time; frustration was what made me quit though. With the battle replay bug that was soon after fixed, but even more with having my immortal pretender die when it shouldn't/couldn't have.
(I know, I know : "I shouldn't be dead. It shouldn't have happened that way." But - domain isn't supposed to change between turns before movement/combat (I think), therefor a Phoenix attacking a province with dominion +1 should be safe.)
To add insult to injury - the battle replay showed the phoenix winning. *snicker*

Commiserations - I hope you had no more of a hangover than I did Last night. Know your feeling about the stale/lost turns though - had something like that happen in an Online quickhosted game, when the first key hit in my turn was 'e' - ending my turn and because everyone else had done their turns, going right onto the next. Effectively a loss of turn.
Stale turns are actually worse though I think? Seems like events don't happen, research doesn't progress, etc?
Again - commisserations. Oh, and Happy Easter.

I see many players give up before they should... if you get screwed out of your "uber" strategy, play on... you never know what is going to happen next, that's the beauty of the game.

Re: Big Game - Mosehansen:2311
You know, for being my second MP game and first with a land race, this is offering up ALL sorts of good learning. It's becoming clear to me that PD, even just a little, is a huge investment to make, esp. when preventing puny little scouts from taking over gigantic income provinces. Forgetting it = no good.
*sigh* Now to very slowly dig myself out of the mess I've made.
