Re: Startrek: Starfury resurrected!
Nice angle Exan, it looks like someone squahed the saucer . But after a few minutes I saw how it really looked, it's ok for now so I would like to see more of the same.
Lose the texture mapping on this model and it's pretty kickass (not to say that with some time your work would be kickass too). I'll see if I can find a textures guys somewhere, so just worry about the models and everything will be fine.
Don't worry about time Sam if you don't finish the story in time for the holiday (???) than we'll just start back up when you get back.
Also, if you don't finish by your holiday then i'd like you to send me what you have so far. ( [email protected])

Re: Startrek: Starfury resurrected!
Well I've only done about 20% of the texturemap so the ship doesn't look very good.

Re: Startrek: Starfury resurrected!
Exan, I've visited your site. I am going to use the two spacedock facilities and maybe the Manhattan (Reserch facility or Phaser Turret).
Would at all be possible for you to design a Freighter and maybe a redesign of the San Francisco to look more like the Research Facility in Armada 1? Also I need a Federation Starbase, Federation Outpost (Armada 1), a Torpedo Turret (Armada 2), and a Trade Center (Armada 2. Possible use: Space dock, Item Purchase). One Last thing, are you going to be a full time modeler??

Re: Startrek: Starfury resurrected!
No to the full time modeler. My priority is The People's mod but I will help you when I have time which in july is very limited since I will spend most of the month elsewhere.
So you found use for the boat shack? (the first spacedock)About the other requests.
Research facility in Armada 1? I don't modify my existing models because I suck at that. I'll start from a stracth doing something similar. As for other requests. I haven't played Armada 2 so I have no idea what you're talking about. But I will propably design somthing like sensor array, satellite, gun turrets etc. for TPM so you can use those models.
Also here's a new trek ship. Note, no texturemap yet. Just something that isn't pink.

I'm not quite happy for her design. I screwed in some point of while creating it and thus the engines may not be aligned properly.

True..True..That right engine (the right long pillar thing) needs to go a little bit left.

Re: Startrek: Starfury resurrected!
I don't know the max but basically the more polygons the more time the computer needs to render the model. So if you have many high polygon ships flying in a same system it can slow the game.
The planets in Starfury have 1700 polygons and the Terran starbase has about 1000. My model, Excalibur has about 1600 and the Sovereign model in Armada 1 has about 1200 polygons.
I think starship polygons should be maxed about 1000-1500 or so.

Re: Startrek: Starfury resurrected!
Excellent, that means I can get to work on DLing Armada models as soon as possible. (I don't mean models ingame, but more like Fan made copies. It's legal to use those)
Keep up the good work everyone, i'll be in touch.

Re: Startrek: Starfury resurrected!
I almost forgot the most important job of all! I need someone to hard points for the new ships!!!! If that doesn't get done we might as well use the old Starfury models.
