Re: TDM vs P&N
2420.5:
Phoenix's fleet intercepted a pair of Vaxin cruisers this month.
As the Furies approached, the Cruisers opened fire with a mysterious new weapon. Phoenix's shields were rapidly failing, and it took the combined fire of the entire fleet to destroy the Vaxin cruisers in time.
This only underscores the precarious nature of our predicament.
Engineers have finally completed the designs for a massive resource converter. The first prototype facility should be operational within three months, and though it will be far from the maximum theoretical efficiencies, it should allow us to resume full production.

Re: TDM vs P&N
I do not know how it will end yet, because my game is currently on turn #56.
I have all scores shown, and the Vaxin are pretty darn powerful.
They have high tech, a large economic base and intel on their side.
I have tactical combat, a few allies (minor help economically) and micromanagement on my side.

Re: TDM vs P&N
2420.7:
Tyrik is a busy place. The furies have attacked and defeated a number of solo Vaxin warships as they buzzed around the system.
Amidst the great numbers of wrecked and drifting ships, four Vaxin cruisers have managed to slip past the furies, and are heading for the Albireo warppoint. They are too far ahead for the Furies to catch in time, but military command believes that the current warppoint defenses will be sufficient.
The defense bases at the warppoint will not be completed until year's end, but there are four Canadian warships finishing repairs there, as well as a few of the recently approved BLast-U class remote-detonation Cobalt Warheads. Anything that survives the BLast-Us should be easily handled by the ships.
2420.8:
Surprisingly, the Vaxin ships turned away from the warppoint, and attacked the Furies pursuing them.
The Cruisers were carrying the new weapon seen before, but they were vastly outnumbered. One Fury took serious armor damage, and will take three months to regrow.
Our economic situation has stabilized now, although productivity is still low. Two new projects have been squeezed into the budget:
First, an expedition into Phong territory. One of the planets in an outlying system has aroused suspicion among the locals as being haunted. A number of ships have been dispatched to prevent further contamination of the site, and a scientific colony ship is being prepped for launch.
Second, funding has been approved for the rebuilding of our Tyrik bases. Before any construction in Tyrik commenses, scout ships will be scattering contact mines throughout the system to shield our construction workers.
