Which is exactly the reason why you should try to get involved in our area better "later" than "sooner". However, if you are looking toward a way to get killed as quickly as possible, you are invited to come over

I will get involved diplomatically, that is, I will probably send a ship to explore this area. Nothing more, we are your friends after all. *Hmm* (Although if I was to send my whole fleet, I could pose quite a threat to either the Zax or the Rorgs. *Grins*) I could help you, I am very friendly with allies, especially weaker allies, easier to exp... erh trading with them is much easier. And Lastly, have a look at the People's Empire if you think the NethernoS are among the weakest Empires.

Yes, I spent half an hour doing my turn, and half a day writing Messages to each neighbour, every turn. Diplomacy is mandatory when you are in such a position, or luck, and hopefully you will have both. But I will reassure you, bigger Empires also have their drawbacks, such as having three wars going on at once and fleets ten systems away from each other. At least such problems do not exist for your Empire heh.

Don't complain about the current state of the NethernoS Empire until you saw how it was when I took over. I believe *all* the fleet had something like 20-30 DUC III and perhaps five to ten Seekers I. (And a few units here and there) Nothing able to stand its ground against even five true warships. Granted, the situation was only slightly better when I had to resign, with... what, a hundred and some weapons available? Still far from being enough to challenge any standard taskforce (that is, fifty ships for the Nyxians).

New contacts are always welcome. Whoever dares to enter our area...

It's always a pleasure to meet people who want to help me just out of the goodness of their heart

Oh, I admit that there are weaker empires. Being number 7 currently, there are actually more weaker than stronger empires Unfortunately, with the exception of the Swedes, all the big players are here in my area, *rejoice, rejoice*

No, no, nobody is complaining here

In this case I have to admit you've done pretty well.

Yeah, *sigh*. That's the problem - even the strongest squirrel is no match for a lion...

I wouldn't count on it, pipqueek.

I'd bet that the ten-to-fifteen ships being built and processed in any one system would be more than capable of addressing any thirty-to-fifty ships you could bring against me. And if you have more than that, there's always the ships in the two or three surrounding systems.

When the scale of the ZAX-Nix conflict really picks up we will see a nice test of the old question: "Is the Talisman enough to compensate for vastly superior technology, tonnage, and economy?" If I were the Nix I would have waited a bit longer...

Vezzra, may I break your morale now? You are ranked as number 7 because of a specificity of the NethernoS. I will tell you in my next e-mail, although it isn't exactly a secret. Without this factor, I fear the NethernoS would fall a bit behind in scores. (In fact, my Empire is currently ranked 13th while I have a stronger economy, more research done, and a true military)

You should ask the People's Empire about my... generosity. *Smirks* After the first Crisis (AI directed Empire), I believe the NethernoS add between seven to nine Retribution warships (the very first in the Retribution series) I don't remember the exact number of weapons on each, but you get my meaning. When I left, the NethernoS were still not quite a military power, but they could destroy at least a few ships.

Loser, I was not talking about thirty ships, or fifty. *Knowing grin* It was rather a hundred and some, featuring... well some toy. These ships are a bit small though, but I would believe they are not too far behind in technology. (Well... Except if you are using some annoying weapon that is) I never liked the Zax armadas though, so I would rather try my luck against the Rorgs instead. And I don't quite like what you are saying either. (But of course, it is merely theoretically, as I am a good one year away from these systems, and there are... what, two or three Empires in the way that might object to letting warships through)

We shall see about this conflict between the Zax and the Nyxians, it should prove to be interesting. Anyone willing to bet? (A hundred credits on the Nyxians for me)

Actually you could get at the Rorg just by passing through my space, 5 or 6 systems I think. I wouldn't recomend it though. I have a public and well stated policy of absolute neutrality in the conflicts of others. You can fight each other all you want. Just please keep it outa my front yard. Being right smack in the middle of the Galactic map should make this an interesting position to try and keep. Maybe I'll try to start a Peace in the Galaxy Now movement.

I refuse to reveal any clues, hints, or details that relate or may relate to my military/economic presence and strength.

My money goes on the Nyxians for various reasons I won't disclose.

@Alneyan:

Hehe, don't worry, you do not break my morale I'm well aware that my ranking does not reflect my true strength. I realized that pretty soon after I took over. But that doesn't matter - I had a very interesting time doing diplomacy till now, staying alive with an empire of this size in a situation like that is an exciting challenge

But if you think that you can do anything in this conflict with merely a hundred ships and some... a bit small and technologically *not too far behind*... If your fleet wants to be worth mentioning, that should be at least a hundred battlecruisers (or bigger) with cutting edge technology. Anything less loser would be able to crush with his "little" fleet he holds in *spare* to punish me if I dared to side with the Nix

So I'm quietly enjoying my neutrality, hoping that doom will pass and I may live a little longer

As for betting... well, no comment on who will win - I think I'm too much of an insider (almost literally)...
