New Version released!

Get it while it's hot!Starfire Mod Version .2

� Added: Improved Satellite (now Automated Buoy) Functionality
� Fixed: Plasma Weaponry technology. All levels now researchable
� Fixed: Bases and non-combat ships no longer require life support(External hull spaces)
� Changed: Slightly reduced power of all lasers
� Changed: Increased power of force beams
� Changed: Increased power of internal Direct Fire Missiles
� Changed: Increased power of plasma gun
� Changed: Base Construction technology was integrated into Construction technology
� Changed: Increased contruction rate of planetary space yard facilities
� Changed: Increased size of Colony Ships.

Now, I'll try and check back before my vacation to make sure the link is working and everything, but I probably wont be around much. To anyone brave enough to try my pre-pre-alpha Version, please post or mail me any feedback you have. I know the AI doesn't work, but you can try designs in the combat simulator.

And if someone wants to use a part of it in their mod, or wants to make some races and AI profiles, feel free .

clarification on what i meant by the starbases/ships in each system, it would have to be done as kind of a scenario type thing, you could only play as certain races.

Instead make a component that only fits on the largest HAWK size, it woudl be called a RD1 (first incantation) and then up to RD2 or 3 and would at first only beat some sensors, but at the highest level be able to beat all sensors, sadly you could only hold one per ship, and then one computer and one engine making it pretty useless unless used from a WP based launcher b/c supply woudl run out super fast.

You'd still need something for it to target on so im not sure if it woudl work, i t hink ill go cry now

Do you have a copy of Galactic Starfire or Starfire 3rd edition? If not, I would highly recommend getting one, it would help with balancing things considerably. If you are trying to recreate the books to fairly exacting detail, Starfire 3rd. edition would be the better choice (if it's still available). Galactic Starfire is expensive too (another reason to try and get SF3 instead). Check out the official site (http://www.starfiredesign.com/starfire/index2.html) for ship statistics from some of the major Starfire wars.

I have Galactic Starfire, and used it some in naming types of weapons and ship hull classes.

However, the mod itself is mostly based on the books, and I only have a copy of In Death Ground (the others I have read, but were checked out from the library)

I will take you up on looking at the ship stats. Should be a good guideline on how ships should be equiped.
