Re: 4 player MA PBEM game - recruiting
Darn, I there are only border mountains on this map meaning no wonderful peg-castles for Ulm.

Re: 4 player MA PBEM game - recruiting
Um, I don't know. How do I do that?
I've fixed the map in the first post, but I'm happy to change it to have real mountains (I didn't realise you could have unreal mountains).

Re: 4 player MA PBEM game - recruiting
Border mountains are fine and all, but as they don't hinder movement as regular mountains and don't count as mountains when you are building fortresses they kind of takes away a bit of the game. There should of course be border mountains where there are border mountains, but I don't think the map generator takes notice to that (and how could it?).
To get regular mountains, uncheck the border mountains box prior to the map generation.
Thank you very much for doing this.

Re: 4 player MA PBEM game - recruiting
Okay, well after an educational half-hour I've edited the original map file so that border mountains are replaced with real mountains. I think that's the best of both worlds, so that the mountains still provide natural barriers and choke points, but also work properly. I've changed the first post so it has the new, fixed version of the map.

Sorry for putting you through all this. But maybe the knowledge was worth it?

Re: 4 player MA PBEM game - recruiting
Oh definitely, it was a useful thing to know. I've been wondering for ages why my men could sometimes walk through mountain provinces unimpeded.

Re: 4 player MA PBEM game - recruiting
Cool, looks like the game's started. Remember you can check who's taken their turn any time at www.llamaserver.net .
Post if anyone has any problems. Remember to get the worthy heroes mod and the map before you play your first turn, and also to send your .2h file rather than your .trn file back to the server (just trying to pre-empt anything going wrong, since these all seem to be common problems).

Re: 4 player MA PBEM game - recruiting
PS The first turn has a 48 hour deadline just in case there's any problems, but hopefully it'll go much sooner than that because it shouldn't take people long to do their turns. After that it'll be on 24 hours.

Ha ha ha! The hydras desperately (?) blocking the entrance to the fortress against a much greater force, and succeeds, reminds me so much of Heroes of Might and Magic II. Man I love that game.
