Re: Vengefull Witch
I "retire" my cursed and my damaged units to patrol groups.

I 'retire' them to the front line as arrow fodder.
You must be nicer than me.

Re: Vengefull Witch
Personally, I pretty much never even notice curses other than on thugs/scs. Even on something like a Jotun, any afflictions they pick up tends to be more or less countered by xp.

For me any units which are crippled and/or with damaged morale get promoted to the front line and acquire the title "Live Bait Soldier"

Re: Vengefull Witch
I usually put the cursed and afflicted units in front for operation human shield. I really don't have a problem with curse but I when I invested most of my pretender points into order and luck I noticed that event was cursing my units in provinces with high order and luck. In cases where I was amassing troops if that province got hit alot of my units get cursed. I can live with it but something about being unlucky is unnerving. Thanks for all the replies you guys answered alot of my questions. I can't wait till Dom3 ships. I heard the singleplayer is very much improved.

Re: Vengefull Witch
Especially if you're playing unmodded (without the Conceptual Balance mods), luck scales can effectively raise the chances of getting bad events, simply because luck makes all events more likely without shifting the balance enough from bad to good. Double your random events, essentially double the bad events as well. (With the CB mod, Luck has a more significant effect on odds of good events vice bad events happening.)

It won't double the number of bad events, but it might actually increase it. I haven't tested it, and I haven't calculated it either, but it could happen. In Dom3, luck has a bigger effect on whether the event is good or bad, and it has been modded in Dom2 as well. However, Luck will make the severe bad events less likely, especially when compared to Misfortune, even in Dom2.

Re: Vengefull Witch
Does anyone remember if the Witch event has any prerequisits? I remember a nice list someone put up once, but I don't remember where (a link would be nice if someone remembers).
Anyway, if for example it requires Magic+1, you might avoid it by avoiding Magic (or somesuch other pick of scales)

That's a great site.
It doesn't list what this particular event requires though. Some other restrictions are in there.
