"Power corrupts. Absolute power corrupts absolutely".
Here we see yet another classic example of that hoary old maxim. Maybe you can sell the rights to your Empire's story and then Hollywood can make a movie out of it and call it.. hmmm... let's see.. "Space Hitler". LOL.

Re: Oh this is just sick and wrong
The unbelievable thing is that billions of rioting people would voluntarily board transport ships!!! The game should not allow that. You should not be able to move around populations until they get to a certain happiness level. Likewise, you shouldn't be able to "cure" a plague by evacuating the entire population. (And speaking of plague, it should spread from planet to planet if it isn't cured or the planet quarantined. [Quarantine would have the same effect as besieged.])

Re: Oh this is just sick and wrong
Fellow 'would-be-rulers-of-the-universe',
you are missing a simple way to deal with rioting conquered planets. At least until a change like dmm mentioned "The unbelievable thing is that billions of rioting people would voluntarily board transport ships!!! The game should not allow that. You should not be able to move around populations until they get to a certain happiness level." is made.
Just include a few (10M-20M)volunteer 'recolonizers' on a small ship in your fleet. After taking a planet, if they riot then transfer the hostile population into a transport ship while dropping your happy recolonizers. Emergency build the urban pac. center and retransfer population if needed. This works best if the planet(or one of them) is domed, would hate to dome an undomed planet.

man, if hitler had had SEIV transports, just think what he could have done! you have to be impressed at the logistics involved in moving that many people.. and getting them to way 4 pounds apiece for transport!
kids, dont commit genocide at home. its just a game.

Re: Oh this is just sick and wrong
I think a few billion Krill burning up as they renter the atmosphere of one of their -until recently rioting worlds must look quite spectacular from the ground. It must make the people I send over to take over living on the world when the slaves are gone very happy, "Look mommy, the nice captain is lauchinging fireworks to celebrate our arrival at our new home!"

Re: Oh this is just sick and wrong
On a related note if you have a race that breathes "none" and you launch them into space shouldn't they still be there later?
Also if you repopulate a rioting world with new colonists aren't they still rioting? I haven't tried this with rioting worlds but on unhappy worlds even if I exchange the whole population (because of the atmosphere usually) they are still unhappy. And If I take "unhappy" colonists and put them on a new world they are "jubilent" so I think its a world setting and not the colonists themselves that are rioting.

Re: Oh this is just sick and wrong
I've been wondering if there was a way to put atrocities into the politics of the game. No, I don't mean the poster on this board, either.
Something like bombing a planet flat should have negative impact on both the target race (for obvious reasons) and other races (who might wonder what you'll do to them) based on their personality profile. Psychotic and xenophobic races might not care about what happens to another race, but Honorable races probably wouldn't react well to a race that commits genocide.
Maybe there should also be a few Propaganda projects in the Intelligence section to offset it. You know, manufacture a bunch of bs about how your admiral exceeded his orders, will be punished, a nice guy like you wouldn't do that and they did it to themselves, etc.

come with too high a price. I would look up into your lifeless
eyes and wave like this..." *waggle* "...can you and your
associates arrange that for me, Mr. Morden?"

Answer #1: If I were them, I'd form up into a giant solar sail and go colonize the nearest moon.
Answer #2: No, because after voluntarily boarding your transport while rioting, they will voluntarily kill themselves just before being jettisoned.
Answer #3: No, silly. Your ships all have some sort of air in them. So the "Nones" all died as soon as they came aboard.
Answer #4: No, because your emotionally disturbed crews will play "hit the pedestrian" for real, instead of just laughing about it in front of their moms like normal teenage boys do.

Re: Oh this is just sick and wrong
Tomgs, I thought this was how it worked but that could have been in ver 1.10. I also noticed that a planet will not always riot when taken by troops, so maybe that was the example I was recalling. Has anyone tried to switch a rioting world pop. with ver 1.19?
