SEIV Gold vs. Classic

OK I am sure this has been asked 1000 times before - sorry. I am just coming back to SEIV and I actually ordered the GOLD Version, I expect it in a couple of days. My question is what are the MAJOR enhancements and most importantly is the AI a challenge in this Version.

The AI is improved, but still not necessarily a challenge for experienced players. Try TDM modpack.

One major feature of Gold is that moddability is much expanded, allowing for many more things to be moddable.

No, don't try it! It's quite hazardous for the noob.

Just don't try it, every time he promotes his Mod Pack people start dying, emipres crumble and suns fade. It's donwright spooky man!

Thanks for the response. I played TDM Mods under the old SEIV a couple of years ago, looking forward to trying my hand with the new features! Only wish I had the time to play against a real opponent.

Is there a PBEM option to the game?

i believe several Groups play by email. the easiest way to find opponents is to play by web with the automated tools at seiv.pbw.cc

keep you coming back for years..

Umm... TDM is not in any way my modpack...
