There was an entire file folder missing with all the new USMC picklists

ANYONE who downloaded a copy of the MBT update patch May 1 2023 should, to be safe, Download it again

The new upgrade/patch zip is named winSPMBT Ver17_Update(2023)-B.ZIP


The reason for this is I managed to miss putting in all the new USMC picklists in the picklist folder in the V17 update folder and this new "B" version has that error corrected.

I apologize to everyone for this but sometimes when you do something over and over and over sometimes no matter how many checks we make we miss something.

The "tell" if you Downloaded the blooper version is just before a normal install started YOU WOULD NOT HAVE SEEN THIS MESSAGE




IF YOU DID NOT SEE THAT MESSAGE OR CANNOT RECAL IF YOU DID PLEASE GO BACK AND DOWNLOAD THE v17 UPDATE AGAIN.

I do apologize again for this, when we tested this we didn't see the message but I explained it away as there not being any write-protect files this time and I SHOULD HAVE realized why it did not show up....... because there were no new files overwriting old ones

B is correct and the changes Shrapnel made to the DL around mid day eliminated all of the issues reported early in the day. It works better for me now that it had for quite awhile

On the subject of the 2023 update.

I'm fully aware almost no one ever plays vs an AI controlled USMC.
But for a change of pace you might try it sometime.
Unit/formation wise there's nothing else like it in WinSPMBT so it'll require you to do some things and react in ways you've never had to before.

I suggest in your "Preferences" you set "Air Sorties" to 4-6 for the USMC to get the full experience.

I got it easily and quickly with no problem (firefox Win 10) from the Shrapnel site.

You are correct, in the edit, revise edit, panic , run-with-hair-on-fire, rebuild the installers, check the rebuild three times then upload and check again day I had I forgot to put the links back in and will do that right now

I had downloaded the original version, so had to re-download. The re-download on Edge went much easier than the first time! BUT for some reason I had to delete the original download in order to get the B download. Otherwise, I just got the original download. It's as if Edge decided I already had it??

Its likely that - X is there already so we blithely assume job done, rather than do the usual browser thing of downloading X again and appending a label like X (1) to differentiate it from the original download.

Which is a silly way to do things - but then again Edge is by microsoft so that is normal for microsoft.
