Default Aircraft scoring issue

I have had this happen in MBT and SPWW2.

If an aircraft is destroyed but crashes off map the player that shot it down does not receive the full value of the destroyed aircraft in the final point total but rather receives VPs equal to the number of damage points it took to bring the aircraft down.

This is a minor issue but it is odd just the same.

See attached screen shot for an example.

on the list to investigate.... BUT....... did you actually see a flaming aircraft head off map or are you relying on the Roster menu report of " destroyed"...... there is no " Damaged" message in so it's showing "Damaged" aircraft as "Destroyed" becasue it has damage but in the test I ran I only saw one aircraft actually crash and its full points was credited... the other aircraft showed hits and damage when they left the map .....and the amount of damage was shown at game end but it's recorded as " destroyed "......... but NONE were " flammers" that were heading to crash but the game took them off map so those ones that make it off map will show as " destroyed" but are actually just damaged but in the game an aircraft with that amount of damage " returns to base" so is OOS but as there is no " Damaged" message they get the Destroyed notation

I saw it flame out but it went off map before it crashed.

This is the scenario I have seen in the past. Usually the fatal hit is received within 2-3 hexes of the map edge and the aircraft is seen going down but it does not crash on the map.

OK, we will look into it. It **may** be that the game is only treating on map crashes as destroyed but as I said, there is no code for "damaged"

I will look at it in the debugger at some point.

My first guess is that the DestroyUnit function is probably only called in the bit of code which does the crash and explosion, and that bit is not reached in a fly-off the map while still burning type of situation. If so, you have found a bug that dates back to the original SP-1!.

Doesn’t always require great detective work guy down the road from us works for the police, still has the odd smoke so nipped round the back alley out of sight. Did not get to light it 2 guys dropped out the back window straight into his cuffs, had a good laugh at that.

Sometimes the fish jump in the boat. We tend to catch the dumber ones.

I had several arrests like that in my career.

Same thing happened to me in a WW2 campaign battle. A Yak with 16 damage did not go down on the map after receiving the fatal hit maybe 10 hexes from the map edge. It showed as "destroyed" on the Russian roster afterwards but gave only 16 points. Three others were shot down, crashed on the map, and gave the full measure (62 points IIRC). No big deal.

It's on the list to check code in both games
