Question Destroying bridges

Occasionally I have had artillery fire or bombs destroy a bridge.

Is there a formula for how this is done?

is it based on warhead size, kill value, penetration or just a die roll?

And it's no longer a 100% certainty that a large shell will instantly drop a bridge section (Something that engineers demolishing a bridge take hours to do). Same goes for rubbling buildings, or creating a major (LOS blocking) fire with flame weapons.

So now you will have to pound away at bridges etc and hope you hit and that the hit strikes lucky with its demolition dice throw.

Best weapon for dropping stone bridges remains LGB of 1000LB and up.
