Racial Balance

Just got the game. Interesting and different game. It looks simplistic at first but there are different strategies and I like it!

I haven't tried all races yet but I finished the Early Sumerian campaign and now working on Akkadian one.

How is the racial balance in the game? I noticed that Elamites are same or better in EVERY respect compared to Akkadians. I mean there is absolutely no difference between them except Elamites are better.

Is this intended or am I missing something here?

Generally, the races have different pros and cons. However, the pros and cons are based on historical information and some factions are just better than others. The Elamites happen to be one of the best factions, so they have the Akkadians beat in every way. However, there are other factions that are just as good as Elamites but have very different characteristics.
