Default Searching the capital for magic sites

If you should search for magic sites at your capital, can it reveal anything? Or are all the magic sites there already revealed at the beginning of the game?

All revealed at the start.
Others may appear because of events, but they will be known when the event happens.

Lady of fortune in the capital will often find a mine fairly quickly. It really is quite nice. Whether or not getting a silver/gold/iron mine in your capital on the third turn is enough of a game advantage to get you to choose the lady of fortune is a matter of personal preference and debate. The impact of finding a gold mine in your starting province in the first few turns is huge (I have been the adversary in this case... you look at the graphs and you're like, how the hell is he making so much money!).

I don't think the Lady of Fortune does anything special with mines. "Good fortune" in the province where she dwells. She doesn't have the fortuneteller ability. She may boost the chance of good events in the home province, but I don't think it's a huge effect. YMMV.

IIRC from a post by lch, it's a 25% (or maybe 50%?) chance per turn for an additional good event in her province. Finding a new mine is a good event, thus the link.

I don't know if its effected by luck scales or not, and I wasn't saying that she particularly finds mines, but she does seem to bring a lot of events in the province that she resides. So, after a while the province will have four sites with regularity (also finds other stuff as well, of course). How fortunate.

The best one (if you can get it) is the alchemical machine. It's cap-only, I think, and may require luck 3. The extra gold (+100?) is pretty noticeable.
